I really don’t know where time goes and I feel like its gone that much faster since Kennedy’s been here. How is Breslyn three in a few weeks and my newborn is only months away from being one? Slow down time… I’m not ready for them to grow up just yet!

It was very exciting be able to do something a little different for this photo shoot! It was for sure a little weird to not be capturing kisses and snuggles, baby rolls and bellies but I loved this! AND she has more things in the works which means I’ll be ale to do this again sometimes soon. EEK so excited.
My dear friend Christina, owner of Modern Market, has been working around the clock on some of these beautiful home decor items featured below. They are STUNNING and I really don’t feel like my photos have done her craftsmanship justice. From shelves to frames for photos or birthdays, growth charts, blanket ladders, Christmas trees and love blocks customized for the first responders in your life … her work is beautiful.
And… not only is her work beautiful, I can’t begin to tell you how beautiful she is … on the inside and that pretty smile haha. This mamma, who around a shift working husband and two handsome little boys, manages to pour her heart and soul into each of her pieces and shes chosen to give back too. She’s donating 5% of her profits to the Alberta Children’s hospital, a place that’s been incredible to my family and so many families that we hold dear.
If you’re interested in learning more, following along as she releases new pieces or purchasing something for your home you can check here out by clicking this link: Modern Crafted Be sure to send her a DM (Direct message) for any questions or inquiries!
It’s crazy to think that after years of photographing weddings I am going to be saying goodbye. Now that doesn’t mean that I will never photograph a wedding again, but it does mean I’ve decided to say goodbye to my first love and focus on something new! I’ve been thinking for a while about becoming dedicated to one type of photography and with the coming addition to my family in November (YAA) it made the decision to switch from weddings to bellies/babies, families and couples (including engagements) an easy choice. This next year of mat leave will allow me to build my new website, work on my brand/packages, take some courses and practice on my little nugget (and on all my friends who are due the same time!) I am SO excited and nervous with this transition and I hope you will take this new adventure with me!
In tribute to all the amazing weddings I’ve had the privileged of being a part of, I thought I’d share some of my favorite images! It was quite fun for me to reminisce as I looked through all the old folders and remember all the fun, love and laughter that was felt on each of their special days.
Some very exciting changes are happening with On the Mantle Photography! Starting with a new website, blog and even changing my direction and focus!
Over the past few years I have been honored to photograph some incredible weddings and as I get ready to embark on my new photographic adventure I’m sad to say goodbye to that chapter as I start focusing on bellies, babies and families. I am SO excited, especially with the upcoming arrival of our own little munchkin in November. I can’t wait to start practicing on him or her and bringing my love of photography from new beginning in marriage to new beginnings in life.
I hope you’ll enjoy what you see and I look forward to be a part of your new adventures, if you’ll be a part of mine 🙂
